Christina Barber was selected in 2015 by the Vero Beach Art Club's Board of Directors as the Club's sole employee and is currently the VBAC Executive Director and now one of two Club employees. VBAC began in 1936 and today is one of the oldest and largest non-profit art clubs in the nation.
Ms. Barber has over 25 years of management and information technology experience. Currently with the Art Club she serves as the Executive Director where she is responsible for all daily operations of the organization and by working closely with the board of directors provides leadership, communications, and help with the organization of the Club's events and endeavors year round. She is primarily responsible for guiding the vision and direction of the organization as established by the board of directors. This includes managing community outreach programs, day-to-day policy, and financial oversight, as well as overseeing development and management of the organization's web presence, staff management and training, and marketing operations.
Ms. Barber received her education at Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University, and Miami Ad School at Portfolio Center with her concentration in photography.
My husband Nick and I moved to Vero Beach in 2015 to escape the harsh Michigan winters (if you have ever driven on black ice you know what I mean). I have been doing graphic design and websites for over 17 years. I enjoy photography, jewelry (bead stringing), and acrylic painting. I have painted porcelain ornaments and made fine reproduction porcelain dolls with my mother-in-law. My "thing" is matching colors and themes so the next time you see me, my "cheater" glasses, hair clip, jewelry, top, pants and shoes should all carry a common theme/color.
It has been a true pleasure meeting our talented artists and getting to know everyone. I have also enjoyed creating/evolving our new website. My goal is to have a wealth of information on the internet and showcase the amazing artwork our artists create for our community, shows and sales. Please be sure to visit all of our events to see the wonderful talent blossoming here on the Treasure Coast.
